Educational use and patient information

Do not enter patient names, MRNs, dates of birth, room/bed identifiers, or other patient-identifying information. Apex Respiratory is not intended for medical-record documentation. Use non-identifying study or workflow labels only.

Apex Respiratory is operated by Apex Ascend Group, LLC. The notebook and flashcards are study tools. This prohibition applies whether you are signed in or signed out.

Accounts are optional

You can browse resources and use calculators, quizzes, notebook, and flashcards without an account. Calculator input values and individual quiz answers are processed in your browser. Quiz scores and study progress can sync when signed in.

On-device storage

We use localStorage for favorites, tool high scores, board-prep mastery, recently viewed resources, cookie preferences, and sync coordination. Notebook documents and notes, flashcard decks and cards, and flashcard review progress use IndexedDB, a document store in your browser. These saved study features persist after you close a tab, including when you have never signed in.

Supabase authentication stores session credentials in localStorage to keep you signed in on this browser. Authentication does not use an application session cookie. Signing out removes the session but keeps saved study content unless you also choose to clear this device.

Cloud sync when signed in

When you sign in, favorites, tool high scores, board mastery, notebook, and flashcards sync with the configured Supabase backend. This includes the full text you write in notebook documents and notes, flashcard decks and cards, and flashcard review progress. Data created while signed out can be uploaded when you later sign in. Recently viewed history is kept locally and is not one of these sync domains.

Cloud sync keeps a local copy too. Signing into a different account on a previously used browser clears its prior study data before loading the new account’s data. Use export/backup controls before clearing work you need.

Account information and emails

Account creation sends your email and password to Supabase authentication. You may also provide a display name and profile photo. Profiles and photos are stored in Supabase; the app uses private avatar storage with authenticated access. Account confirmation, password recovery, and email-change messages are delivered through the configured Resend email service. These are transactional messages, not a newsletter.

When a new account is created, we store a separate record of your Terms and Privacy Policy acceptance, the versions accepted, your account identifier, and a timestamp supplied by the database. This record cannot be edited through your profile and is not sent to analytics. Clearing this device or deleting your cloud study copy does not remove it; it is removed with full account deletion.

Product usage when signed in

The app records selected signed-in actions in Supabase, such as calculator use, practice completion, favorites changes, and notebook or flashcard actions. These usage records contain your account identifier, event name, and applicable resource identifiers. They do not include calculator inputs, individual answers, or notebook/flashcard text. User-authored content is stored separately by cloud sync as described above. Signed-out users do not send these account usage records.

Hosting and analytics

Cloudflare Pages hosts the static site and delivers its files. Serving requests involves processing network information such as IP addresses. Cloudflare Web Analytics is loaded by the app only when a valid beacon token is configured in the build. That optional beacon measures site usage without application cookies.

Production builds use Google Analytics 4. The app waits for Supabase to finish authentication callback processing and checks the URL before loading either analytics provider. Documents opened with authentication callback parameters do not load these analytics scripts, even after the URL is cleaned. Google page locations omit fragments and query strings. Google Consent Mode starts analytics storage denied; Google may send cookieless measurement requests before you accept. Accepting enables analytics cookies, such as _ga. Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to change your choice; the app saves that choice in localStorage.

Advertising

The Google AdSense loader and advertising are disabled in this release. The app keeps Google advertising storage, user data, and personalization consent denied, including when analytics cookies are accepted. Any future advertising implementation requires a separate review and policy update.

Local and cloud deletion

Clear this device is available on the notebook and account pages, including while signed out. It removes local notebook documents and notes, flashcard decks, cards and review progress, favorites, tool scores, board mastery, and recently viewed history from this browser. It signs out this browser and pauses sync until a fresh sign-in. Cookie preferences and device coordination markers are retained. It does not delete your cloud copy or account; signing in again can download cloud data.

Delete cloud copy & sign out on the account page separately removes synced study data, account usage history, and stored avatar data from the cloud. Local study data stays on the device. It does not delete the authentication account or profile itself. A later sign-in may upload remaining local study data again. To remove both copies, delete the cloud copy first, then clear this device.

Children’s privacy

Apex Respiratory is intended for users age 13 or older. Do not create an account if you are under 13. Contact the operator about an account created by a child under 13 at [email protected].
